Supplier qualification is a key element of any pharmaceutical quality assurance system. With the revised EU Good Distribution practice the management of outsourced activities focused also on the qualification of logistic service providers. The contract giver is responsible to assess the competence of the service partner. Qualification of logistic service providers in particular is a key regulatory requirement. Beyond the regulatory layer, there are additional benefits that can be generated from this qualification exercise. And we want enlarge this aspect in this article. In general the benefits can be summarized under the label "control of risks".
