iBox: the thermal regulated, autonomous and reusable insulated shipping container

The iBox temperature-controlled container is a reusable, robust and smart solution for the transport of temperature-sensitive health products. With patented thermal regulation system, the iBox cooling box intelligently keeps the right temperature for a maximum duration (up to 120 hours). The insulated shipping box is made of vacuum insulation panels (VIP) combined with polyurethane and protected by a rigid outer packaging. The cold source, in the form of eutectic gel packs or other phase change materials (PCM), and the thermal regulating device are integrated in the cover.

Unlike passive (static) systems, the thermal control system continuously monitors the temperature of the payload space. It detects internal temperature and adjusts the cold input accordingly. Through the expansion of a phase change material, the control system opens and closes a thermal conduit which removes the heat away from the payload space, allowing to maintain the product temperature between +2 °C and +8 °C.

Self-controlled, robust, reliable and pre-qualified, the iBox cooling box meets the regulations and the quality/security requirements for the cold chain shipping of pharmaceutical and biological products. It can be also adapted to other specific requirements. This innovative range of insulated shipping packaging meets varying needs in terms of temperature ranges and profiles, and facilitates the cold chain management.
